Umunnachi is an Igbo town located in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State. It shares its borders with Eziowelle, Ifitedunu, Ogidi and Umudioka.

Main Market Day
The main market day in Umunnachi is Eke, and the market itself is locally known as Eke-Umunnachi.
Major Festivals
Aro na Erimede Umunnachi: This is an annual festival held every February in Umunnachi to honor the town's Aro deity. The festival starts with the veneration of the Aro deity and ends a few days later with the Erimede celebration. To mark the occasion, the community comes together for masquerade performances and cooks large amounts of Ede (cocoyam) to share.
Awanji Umunnachi: This is the annual New Yam Festival in Umunnachi, celebrated every September.

Founder and History
According to oral information, Umunnachi traces its roots back to Nnachi, a warrior, hunter, and farmer. Nnachi was the son of a man called Dunu (from Okofia). Dunu was a revered hunter whose sons went on to establish the various towns that make up the Dunukofia towns today.
